Pressure & Flow Switches
A hot tub pressure switch or flow switch is a critical component of a hot tub's filtration and heating system. It works by monitoring the water pressure in the hot tub's plumbing to ensure proper circulation and filtration of the water. The pressure switch is connected to the pump and heater, and it signals the pump to turn on when the water pressure drops below a certain level, indicating that the water is not flowing through the system properly.
When the water is flowing normally, the pressure switch remains closed, allowing the pump and heater to run smoothly. However, if the water pressure drops, the pressure switch opens, signaling the pump to turn off and preventing damage to the hot tub's components. This protects the hot tub's pump, heater, and other components from damage and prolongs the life of the system.
